A trial post

Andy and I were in BAPA for several years -- this is a sort of proto-LJ, on paper and via the post. (One person is nominated as the central mailer and the people on the mailing list -- some 30-odd -- send in contributions on a regular basis. A lot of the point of it is commenting on other people's contributions, so you get very very long & slow conversations about, I dunno, top ten hundred songs and so forth.)

I've scanned some pages of zine contributions that he did -- here's a trial one from when he'd just moved back to London in late 1999.

That is so ace. Thanks for posting it. I know just what he meant about singing books. When i was a bookseller i had it all the time - like living in a musical. Just one example is whenever i saw anything by Ishiguro i'd be tempted to break into song: "Ishi-guru, is it you? Yeah yeah yeah" etc. (Metal Guru, T.Rex). So nice to see what Andy wrote and be able to laugh... he had the best sense of humour. He was such a good writer, too.

Oh my god.

Oh no, I'm crying again.

Oh.
